Pranab Bhattacharya has been a resident and highly influential member of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram since 1945. From an early period during this stay, he was made responsible for the Physical Education Department of the ashram and remains the head of this service. Under this department, he built and controls the ashram's film and photography division. He was also an attendant on the Mother in the last years of her life.
