Julian Lines lives in Woodstock, New York, where he runs a shop named "Pondicherry," featuring yoga related items including clothing, videos, books and CDs. Lines has been interested in the teachings of Sri Aurobindo since 1972 and has been active as an organizer of community events related to followers and admirers of this work. He is presently a member of the International Advisory Council of Auroville and Chair of Auroville International. He is also the President Matagiri Sri Aurobindo Centre and a board member of AVIUSA and the Nakashima Foundation for Peace.
